The Importance of Consistent Therapy

Therapy is a process that can take years to finalize, for some people it can take a lifetime. Prioritizing therapy and realizing that seeing a doctor of any kind is just as important as the crazy worlds of working, school and extracurricular activities. To fully take advantage of the therapeutic process, committing to a schedule that best fits your needs (i.e. weekly, monthly etc.) is the key to success. For example when playing on a school or private hockey team, if you miss practices and don’t commit to the practice schedule, you are not allowed to play in the games because you haven’t conditioned and practiced with your team. The same motto can be said for therapy, taking the time to commit to a 50 minute appointment should be a priority in the lives of clients who have made the brave decision to start the process.
