Meagan Cassidy
LCPC
My Approach
Meagan is a creative, strengths-based clinician with experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and families. She is passionate about helping patients identify and reach their goals. Her first step is to get to know each patient, and form a comfortable relationship. This often includes playing games, learning about the patient’s interests and activities, and getting the patient’s perspective on current challenges. She strives to always approach patients with empathy, creativity, and open-mindedness. She is happy to include in therapy any family members that are a part of the patient’s support system or social environment. She believes that equipping families to best support and guide their children is one of the most important parts of her job.

About Meagan Cassidy
My Experience
Meagan specializes in working with children and adolescents. She has always known she wanted to work with children, and when she began doing that she realized the importance of partnering with families. She has worked in social services, Chicago Public Schools, and community counseling centers. Her favorite part of working with children and adolescents is how varied and dynamic the work can be. One hour she could be playing pretend with a 5 year old, and the next hour she could be helping a teenager learn how to manage their depression. She loves finding creative ways to make therapy fun but effective for young kids, and figuring out how to engage a withdrawn or reluctant teenager into the therapeutic process. She has significant experience focusing on presenting concerns like depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, social skills, behavioral issues, ADHD, anger, and family conflict. She loves setting aside dedicated time to educate, empower, and encourage parents and guardians.
