Lisa Duran, LSW, possesses a nurturing and attentive approach to therapy. With a penchant for understanding and an unwavering commitment to her patients, she creates a calm and secure environment to help them discover and achieve their personal goals. Her goal in this professional relationship is to offer steadfast support, allowing her patients to experience the ultimate fulfillment in reaching their therapeutic goals. Lisa firmly believes that progressive changes in behavior are key to creating balance in relationships and personal lives. Lisa carries a deep-rooted passion for helping those struggling with complex mental health and addiction issues. Her experience with patients battling self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and co-occurring disorders has equipped her with the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals like psychiatrists and school counselors to find a successful treatment plan for her patients.

About Lisa Duran

My Experience

A graduate of Hope College with a B.A. in Elementary Education, Lisa was an elementary school teacher for many years. She further advanced her studies at the University of Central Florida, earning her Master’s of Social Work. Lisa is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and holds a Professional Educator’s License (PEL).
Most recently, Lisa served as a School Social Worker. In this role, she provided a wide range of services, including direct social work, small group counseling, social-emotional assessment, crisis intervention, and advocacy for students’ rights. Lisa is adept at working with families to problem solve issues that impact students in the school setting, including anxiety, depression, OCD, and school refusal.
Lisa has a strong faith, and firmly believes that everyone is capable of kindness and everyone possess the ability to make positive change in their lives. She lives in the area with her husband of nearly twenty years and her two daughters.
