My Approach
Laura views psychological testing and evaluation as an opportunity to uncover each patient's unique strengths and challenges. She reframes traditional "deficits" through the lens of neurodiversity, development, and neuroplasticity, recognizing that abilities are dynamic rather than fixed. Her positive, strengths-based approach transforms the evaluation process from a diagnostic hurdle into an empowering, affirming experience. Patients leave with a deeper understanding of how their brains work, feeling validated rather than defined by a diagnosis. Laura approaches assessment as a collaborative partnership with both the individual and their family. By integrating client perspectives with information from multiple data sources, she develops comprehensive, holistic evaluations that reflect the whole person rather than a single diagnosis. Laura is experienced in providing assessment and therapeutic services within school systems and understands how mental health intersects with academic performance. Families can expect practical, data-informed guidance tailored to their child's needs. Drawing on her experience across a variety of educational and therapeutic settings, she develops recommendations and support plans that honor each patient's goals, strengths, and potential.
