My Approach
Lailah takes an integrative, client-centered approach to therapy, recognizing that each individual's experiences, strengths, and goals are unique. She strives to create a therapeutic space where patients feel safe, supported, and genuinely heard—a place of peace, comfort, and growth where they can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without fear of judgment. She believes meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship and prioritizes building trust, fostering authenticity, and meeting patients where they are. Using a collaborative, evidence-informed approach, Lailah works alongside patients to identify their goals while tailoring treatment to their individual needs. Whether someone is navigating a difficult season of life or pursuing long-term personal growth, she aims to provide compassionate support, thoughtful guidance, and practical tools that empower them to better understand themselves and move toward the life they envision.
Lailah enjoys working with individuals who are open to self-exploration and personal growth, whether they are attending therapy for the first time or returning after previous experiences. She values building collaborative relationships that honor each patient's unique strengths, goals, and lived experiences, and is committed to providing a respectful, nonjudgmental environment where healing, insight, and lasting growth can flourish.

About Lailah Abdulla
My Experience
Lailah earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Purdue University Northwest before completing her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology, where she continues to expand her clinical knowledge and develop her therapeutic identity.
Prior to beginning her current practicum, Lailah gained diverse clinical experience working with individuals across the lifespan in a variety of settings. She served as a substance use and anger management group facilitator, developing skills in psychoeducation, group process, and fostering meaningful therapeutic discussions. She also worked for two years as a Certified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), providing individualized behavioral interventions for children ages 2 to 9 while collaborating closely with families and interdisciplinary teams to support children’s social, emotional, and behavioral development.
During a previous practicum in a private practice setting, Lailah conducted psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults, administering and scoring measures, integrating assessment data, writing comprehensive reports, and providing client feedback sessions under supervision. Most recently, she completed a therapy practicum in an outpatient hospital setting, where she provided individual psychotherapy to patients with a wide range of presenting concerns, diagnoses, and life experiences. This experience further strengthened her ability to build therapeutic rapport, adapt interventions to each client’s unique needs, and provide compassionate, client-centered care.
Throughout her clinical training, Lailah has been fortunate to learn from experienced supervisors with expertise in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Their mentorship has provided a strong foundation in these evidence-based approaches and deepened her appreciation for skills-based, values-driven interventions. As she continues her professional development, Lailah looks forward to refining and expanding her use of DBT and ACT while maintaining an integrative, client-centered approach to care.
