Kimberly Pohl-Smith

MA, LPC

My Approach

As a counselor it is Kim’s goal to create a safe space, and to build a trusting therapeutic relationship with empathy, honesty, and respect. Therapy is the opportunity to talk about challenges, be reflective of personal strengths and to learn coping skills for the future. Theoretically Kim leans towards, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Patient Centered Therapy, personalizing her interventions and approach based on the patients age, existing strengths, current level of functioning, and in collaboration with the patient, create a treatment plan, using the patients existing strengths and goals to ensure an effective and positive change.
