Kate Hanley

LCPC

My Approach

Kate is passionate about helping her patients examine their lives and histories, accept their challenges, and work toward becoming the person they want to be. Her approach is to help each individual and/or family draw upon their strength, resilience, and courage to achieve their goals and cope with their struggles. She utilizes an integrative but always empathic approach, drawing from acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and existential therapy (finding meaning in even challenging circumstances). She strives to empower patients to take the insight and tools learned in therapy and create the change they wish to see in their lives and relationships.

About Kate Hanley

My Experience

Kate’s clinical experience includes providing individual, group, and family therapy to patients of all ages. She has experience working with children, teens, and adults, regarding various concerns, including depression and low self-esteem, anxiety, OCD, adjustment issues, addiction and/or trauma history, divorce or family conflict, and women’s issues. She is particularly passionate about working with pregnancy and post-partum concerns. Kate worked exclusively with this patient population for several years and, as a mom, herself finds a particular affinity for these issues. In addition, Kate is a practitioner of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy – which involves changing one’s relationship to the symptoms they are experiencing to regain control over their own life and live the life they envision for themselves. She has worked in inpatient and outpatient settings and community agencies.
