My Approach

Hannah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in working with children, adolescents, families and adults. Hannah utilizes evidence-based approaches by incorporating talk therapy, elements of CBT, DBT, play therapy, solution-focused, and psychodynamic approaches inot sessions. She believes in exploring childhood experiences at the forefront, as they shape who you are. In doing so, this assists clients in navigating represssed emotions, impacting current behaviors, feelings, communication and relationships.

Hannah believes in buliding strong relationships wiht her clients, which allows her to assist them in meeting their therapeutic goals. Hannah's sessions are client-centered, where building a strong therapeutic relationship assists clients in processing, confronting uncomfortable feelings, and changing unwanted behaviors. Ultimately, this approach empowers clients to make changes to thrive in all aspects of their lives.

About Hannah Burke

My Experience

Hannah received her Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University in Inclusive Elementary  and Special Education. She tuaght third-grade special education for three years at a charter school in New York City. While teaching, she pursued a Master’s Degree in social work from New York University.

Her teaching experience led her to want to help children and families on a borader level outside of academics. Since teaching, she has worked in multiple school-based settings before moving to a private practice setting based in New York City.

She works with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults focusing on Autism Spectrum Disorder, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, difficult family dynamics, difficulty with regulating emotions, and low self-esteem. She believes in building a strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation of therapy where clients can expect to see long-term results.
