Emma Burke
M.A., M.Ed. | Psy.D. Psychology Doctoral Practicum Student
My Approach
Emma’s therapy style draws from an integrated psychodynamic approach. She helps patients explore underlying emotions, interpersonal patterns, attachment experiences, and unconscious processes that may be influencing their current difficulties. At the same time, she recognizes the importance of practical strategies and coping skills, tailoring treatment to each individual’s unique needs and goals. Emma approaches therapy with warmth, curiosity, and compassion, creating a supportive and nonjudgmental space where patients can feel safe exploring their experiences. She believes that meaningful change occurs through a collaborative therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and understanding. Guided by the belief that current thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationship patterns are often shaped by both present circumstances and past experiences, she works with patients to develop greater insight into these connections and their impact on daily life. Emma views therapy as an opportunity for increased self-discovery, healing, and growth. She is committed to helping patients identify their strengths, deepen their understanding of themselves, and cultivate more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others. Her goal is to empower patients to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence, resilience, and self-compassion while creating meaningful and lasting change.
