Emiliana Mladic
MA, LCPC
My Approach
Emiliana approaches therapy by first understanding where each individual is currently functioning and tailoring a plan to meet their unique needs and goals. Emiliana needs to create a non-judgmental therapeutic environment where each person can feel supported, validated, and nurtured. Though she tends to utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, she personalizes her therapeutic approach based on the individual’s strengths, age, preferences, and goals to ensure that positive change is effective and lasting. Emiliana’s ideal person to work with is open to the therapy process and exploring what avenues of treatment will work best for them. Emiliana understands that individuals come to therapy in many different stages of their mental health struggles and can tailor her approach to reflect the varying levels of motivation, eagerness, and difficulties with change that may be affecting their lives.

About Emiliana Mladic
My Experience
Emiliana earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lewis University. She received a Child and Adolescent Distinction with her Master’s degree by taking specialized coursework for this population while in graduate school. While completing her practicum and internship, Emiliana has clinical experience working in a community mental health agency, where she has worked with individuals of all ages providing individual, group, and family sessions. As part of her practicum and internship and later as a licensed clinician, Emiliana has experience providing counseling during the school day in elementary, middle, and high schools to students who struggle with disciplinary issues, academic concerns, and home/life stressors. In addition, she has experience working with individuals who struggle with depression, adoption/attachment issues, self-esteem/body-image issues, anxiety, domestic violence/trauma, strained parent-child relationships, family changes/transitions, school-related challenges, and identity concerns.
When not working, you can usually find Emiliana walking her dog along Lake Michigan, consuming true crime documentaries/podcasts, attending live music events, exploring new restaurants, or spending time with her family.
