About Dr. Silky Ansari

My Experience

Dr. Ansari received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Loyola University Chicago, where she developed a strong foundation in teaching and child development. Her passion for working with underserved communities and her interest about the connection between academic performance and emotional wellness led her to earn a Master of Arts in Instructional Leadership from the University of Illinois Chicago. Additionally, Dr. Ansari has completed her Doctorate in School Psychology (Psy.D.) at The Chicago School.

Dr. Ansari’s professional journey spans from public schools, therapeutic day schools, outpatient clinics, and hospital behavioral health units. She has worked with children through adults experiencing a wide range of psychological challenges, including anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, chronic pain, and adjustment issues. Her clinical roles have involved psychoeducational and neuropsychological assessment, school-based consultation, individual therapy, biofeedback, and group counseling. At Diamond Headache Clinic, she supported patients coping with fibromyalgia, stress-related conditions, and pain management. At Pathways Psychology Services, she provided trauma-informed care to vulnerable populations, including parents involved with DCFS, individuals transitioning out of incarceration, and those facing systemic barriers.

Dr. Ansari’s therapeutic approach is integrative and person-centered. She draws primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Dr. Ansari has used these modalities to help patients develop insight, emotional regulation, and adaptive coping strategies. She often incorporates mindfulness, psychoeducation, trauma-informed care, and family systems perspectives based on the needs of each individual. Her eclectic orientation allows her to adapt to diverse patient needs, offering structured interventions when needed while maintaining empathy and cultural sensitivity.

As a first-generation Indian American, Dr. Ansari brings a deeply personal lens to her work. Her lived experiences navigating bicultural identity, familial expectations, and generational narratives inform her therapeutic approach and strengthen her connection with patients who feel “in between” cultures or systems. Dr. Ansari is committed to providing accessible and culturally responsive care to multilingual families and diverse communities.
