Caroline Hagelin
LSW
My Approach
Caroline’s therapeutic approach is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in collaboration. She believes that healing begins in a space where patients feel safe, respected, and empowered to show up as their full selves. Caroline strives to create an affirming and judgment-free environment where individuals can explore past experiences, current challenges, and future goals with curiosity and self-compassion. Her style blends warmth and empathy with a grounded, practical approach. She often works with individuals navigating trauma, substance use, emotional dysregulation, and self-esteem issues. Whether you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or misunderstood, Caroline works alongside you to clarify your values, deepen self-awareness, and build concrete coping skills that promote lasting change. Caroline draws from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Strengths-Based practices. She tailors each session to meet the unique needs and identity of the patient and deeply values the therapeutic relationship as a space for growth, empowerment, and healing. She especially enjoys working with teens and adults who are motivated to explore their story and take meaningful steps toward healing, resilience, and connection.

About Caroline Hagelin
My Experience
Caroline earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Iowa, where she developed a strong foundation in human behavior, development, and mental health research. Her early academic experiences sparked a deep interest in trauma-informed care and the complex intersections of identity, environment, and wellness. She went on to complete her Master of Social Work at the University of Denver, specializing in clinical work with individuals impacted by trauma, substance use, and systemic oppression. Caroline completed her clinical internship at a community corrections facility, where she supported justice-involved adults navigating co-occurring substance use and mental health challenges. She also brings experience working in high school settings and with survivors of domestic violence, offering her insight into both individual and systemic approaches to care. These diverse environments have shaped her commitment to culturally responsive, nonjudgmental, and empowering care. Caroline integrates her understanding of attachment, neurobiology, and trauma to help individuals build emotional insight and reconnect with their inner resilience.
