Alice McKeever

LCSW, RCYT

My Approach

Alice specializes in working with children and adolescents. She provides children and families with an emotionally supportive space to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Her style is relationally-based, believing that the therapeutic relationship is paramount to quality care; each patient’s perspective, strengths, and goals drive treatment. She honors the uniqueness of individuals and families. She comes from an empathetic, collaborative, and strength-based perspective. She meets each patient where they are and helps guide her patients through their discovery and healing process. She helps foster resilience and collaborates with patients to break time-worn patterns and create more adaptive coping strategies.

About Alice McKeever

My Experience

Alice believes that therapy is a special place where people can have a safe space to experience and express whatever thoughts and feelings they have with support. She has worked with patients in various settings, including schools, residential centers, hospitals, and private practice, and has collaborated with multiple systems for treatment. In residential treatment, she ran weekly yoga groups for kids to increase the connection between the body and the mind. She has personally found therapy can merge the connection between the body and mind through mindfulness and body awareness. More recently, she has found the importance of structured movement and sensory interventions to manage a lack of energy or elevated hyperactivity. She has worked with children, families, and couples. The complex relationships between families and couples are a space that she has been drawn to. She finds it essential to help people understand and manage these different relationships to help with their sense of self and place in the world.
