Teens and adolescents are frequently at risk for drug and alcohol abuse. Because they are still developing adult decision-making skills, teens don’t always use their best judgment, and a string of bad decisions can lead to substance abuse. Parents need to be aware of changes in their teen’s behavior, such as an increase in lying, mood swings, or changes in friends that may indicate a problem.
