If you are the parent of a child with special needs, you should consider the benefits of music therapy. Although this intervention has been shown to be effective for helping children with a wide variety of health issues, very few parents and therapists know about this intervention. While it is not possible to know for sure if your child will benefit from this therapy treatment there is no harm in trying it. I would encourage you to talk with your child’s therapist or healthcare provider to locate a professional that uses this technique. Music therapy may provide you and your child with the additional support needed to master challenging goals.
