Asperger’s Syndrome
Promoting social and emotional development with an approach tailored to individual needs.

Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.
— Judy Garland

An individual with Asperger’s Syndrome faces a unique set of challenges and possibilities. However, the primary goal of all successful Asperger’s treatment programs is to help clients achieve deeper, richer connections to themselves, their families, and the world around them.

Dr. Clatch of Courage to Connect helps with the process of improving these connections. Through his doctoral research and dissertation on Asperger’s, and his hands-on work with clients during his internship, he has gained extensive experience and specialized expertise developing and applying Asperger’s treatment programs. In each case, it is his goal to help the client achieve the balanced sense of belonging and independence that heralds the successful transition from childhood to adolescence and beyond.

Dr. Clatch and his clinical staff tailor each program to the client’s individual needs using a wide range of therapeutic techniques, including social communication, social skills training, emotional regulation, and hygiene development. Asperger’s affects the entire family, and we strongly encourage sessions that focus on parent-child connections and sibling interactions. To support these efforts, Courage to Connect offers a full-range of therapy and support services to family members and anyone else whose life is touched by a person with Asperger’s.
